 Academic Support Center

The mission of the Academic Support Center (ASC) is to improve and enhance the success of students at all levels including academic preparation.

Methods

The Academic Support Center provides a variety of services to assist student learning: workshops, academic coaches/tutors, study skills courses, advising, disability services, and interactive Web site. The academic coaches/tutors engage in student success training which is certified by College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).

This Web site has been designed to familiarize you with the resources that ASC offers. We hope you will refer to this site often.

The staff of ASC strives to provide students with a supportive, comfortable learning environment that encourages opportunity for growth.

Disability Services

The mission of Disability Services is to advocate for and facilitate equal access to educational opportunities for students with qualified disabilities.

General Overview

  1. The student must contact Disability Services and supply appropriate documentation outlining the nature of the disability and recommendations for accommodation.
  2. In collaboration, the student and disabilities officer will draft a memo to each of the student's professors that lists the reasonable accommodations.
  3. The student is responsible for delivering the memo to each professor in person.
  4. The student and professor should discuss the exact process for implementing them.  The professor will sign the memo in agreement to the accommodations.
  5. The student must repeat the process each semester.
